What You Will Do
Under the direction of Joe Castelluccio, Director, Business Development, Member Engagement, the Business Development Executive (BDE), Financial Services & Tail Spend Categories will be responsible for driving growth of E&I’s financial services and tail spend portfolio by targeting CFOs and other key financial stakeholders on campus and cultivating strategic relationships with these decision-makers and influencers to position E&I as a trusted sourcing partner. They will grow business by engaging in value-led conversations that address institutional pain points, provide insight through teaching and reframing member assumptions, and accelerate contract adoptions. This role is essential for expanding E&I’s footprint through consultative selling positioning E&I as a trusted expert in financial operations and spend management among institutional finance leaders within the education market. _______________________________________________________________________
How You Will Do It
- Grow the number of members adopting E&I’s financial services and tail spend contracts by targeting strategic, long-term partnerships with institutional finance leaders.
- Maximize spend on specific member agreements and drive business with decision makers outside of procurement, such as CFOs, Controllers, CIOs and other senior leadership, to expand contract adoption and influence across member institutions.
- Cultivate and grow strategic relationships with Finance leaders, serving as a trusted advisor in institutional spend management and operational modernization.
- Collaborate closely with Sourcing Consultants to support strategic discussions with procurement and provide guidance on how to maximize the value extracted from E&I contracts.
- Lead strategic account growth planning, by identifying growth opportunities, celebrating successes, and highlighting additional ways to maximize contract value.
- Work closely with business partners’ regional sales teams and leadership to align on account and market penetration strategies.
- Host regular collaboration sessions with business partner sellers to discuss market opportunities, account focus, and pipeline progress.
- Deliver member-facing training and education sessions to highlight the overall value of E&I’s financial services and tail spend contracts.
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on financial services and tail spend management, enabling both member and seller success through expert guidance, thought leadership, and solution consultation.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Education
- Bachelors Degree in Business or Finance or a related field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in strategic business development and account management role preferably within the financial or tail spend sector
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with C-suite and senior decision-makers.
- Familiarity with financial associations, past attendance and participation at trade shows, preferably with experience at presenting at industry conferences
- Knowledge of contract solutions, with the ability to translate broad portfolios into customer-centric solutions for the education market.
- Deep understanding of e-procurement marketplace solutions
- Strong executive presence with the ability to maintain confident and composed yet humble
- Proficient in the use of business analysis tools to evaluate present and future performance to identify areas of opportunity
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills
- CRM Experience required, preferably Salesforce
- Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite of programs, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Travel Requirements
- Ability to travel regionally to meet with members and individuals within their portfolio of contracts as needed. Approximately 30%
